I don't think it's really nationalism vs globalism. It's not all that binary. It's probably at least a little about nationalism vs globalism. How much is unclear. It looks to me like the angry mob isn't really united on any one thing other than things suck for multiple reasons. The most common thing people agree on is that they blame whatever isn't going the way they think it should on Marcon.

Which is why a lot of taxes the consumer pays are taken out before you actually have the money. Payroll taxes- you get a net check vs getting all the money then having to pay the gov. Business owners pay taxes every time they turn around, it all gets passed on to the consumer. Pretty much every tax has some type of structure that prevents a person from easily seeing how much of the total expense was due to taxes and gov. regulation.

Much of government "regulation" has just become the government picking economic winners and losers, often influenced by who ever pays the most to the dc law/lobby beltway.

It seems I remember that gas stations are not allowed to disclose how much of the price per gallon is taxes.
