I'll be purchasing one of these 2 9mm, hopefully this weekend at the 1500. However I wanted to reach out to the community to see what kinds of experiences they have had with one pistol or the other. I have had a handful of experience with the 92FS and not so much with P226, however they rank high on my list. And they are the two I have narrowed down my selection to. Once again any input is appreciated.

I haven't owned a Sig yet but I have had a Beretta 92FS, good gun. I would say they are both great guns, how do you like the grip on each? 92fs is a big gun! Do you like the exposed barrel on the Beretta? They both hold the same amount of ammo I believe. Sounds like a personal choice on the one you prefer. :yesway:

I've owned both the Sig and the Beretta and I have to say that the hands down winner in the CZ 75 SP-01 :D. In my opinion it is the finest 9mm handgun ever produced especially if you send it to CZ Custom shop for a trigger job. You may want to look into one

The 92FS feels great in my hand, thats one of the reason I have enjoyed it so much. The size feels just right. But that also goes with the Sig as well. It feels great in my hand. I guess I'm just trying to narrow it down to reliability at this point. Which one is going to last the longest for me.

I have never handled one at all, and don't know much about them. What makes you choose this 9mm over the others?

Military and police around the world use the Sig and Beretta, I don't think you have too much to worry about with them reliability wise. I enjoy my Glock 17 for full size 9mm fun, but that's me. :)

I don't know what it is, but I can't get used to my Uncle's Glock 17. He shoots it like a pro. To me it just doesn't feel right.

I would guess Beretta mags can be found cheaper than Sig. Beretta would be cheaper to buy I would thing. Both have DA/SA triggers, decockers. Pick the one you think looks better I guess. :dunno:

Sounds like a pretty good guess then. Haha. Seems to be what its coming down for me. Or if I can find a better deal one way or the other these weekend, as I funnel my way through the massive crowds that is the 1500.

It is by far the most comfortable 9mm I've ever handled, it is suppreamly accurate, vrey reliable (over 2000 rounds and not a single malfunction of any kind, light recoil, and for the price of a new Sig you can buy and SP-01 AND send it to the CZ Custom shop and get a much better trigger than the Sig. There's a reason that CZ have begun to dominate the competitave shooting world!

I'm thinking along the same lines as wwdkd. I have owned the 226 (9mm & 40) as well as the 225 and 228 and the Beretta 92FS and my first choice would be a CZ75B. But, I'll get back to the OP's question. It's not that I dislike the Beretta, actually it's a great pistol, but the Sig's ergonomics and control layout are better than the Beretta as well as the ability to adjust/replace sights.

If you want a 226 save your money and get an EAA EZ9. Same gun but the EZ9 is several hundred cheaper. Some Sig specialists looked one over at the shop I purchased mine at and said the internals were better than a Sig. Just an option.

    +1.

Shot bajillions of rounds through the M9 (loved it when Uncle Sam picked up the ammo tab), had a few P226s, and now a few CZ SP01 Shadows.

The Shadows are hands down winners in every way.

Just as reliable Over 6k through mine with no problems. When Glocks choke, my CZs are still running. :D

FAR better trigger. Light years better. Lighter, smoother, with no overtravel. Try finding an overtravel stop for either the Sig or BEretta, and you'll come up short, unless you want to pay someone a few hundred to weld one. The Shadow has it out of the box.

Better ergonomics. Fits just about everyone's hand well, from my XL glove wearing mitts to my 5'4" 120lb petite little wife's hands. Both the Beretta and Sig are chunky things.

So these CZ's are pretty solid then? Any of the local Indy gun shops carry them you know of? I would like to handle one see how it feels.

The 92 has a design flaw, in my opinion. The safety/decock lever is in the wrong place. It is too easy to engage when racking the slide.

It shoots ok, but I much prefer the Sig

Own both. Hard choice but for easy to operate and shoot well have to go with the 226. Fordtough is correct 226 mags hard to find at $25 each. Beretta mags out the butt at less than $10 for Checkmate. Personally would pay more for PB marked mags.
