You thought of eating, I thought firearm storage.
Great for that too, I'll bet.

Maybe for a couple of hiders, in case of some crazy home invasion scenario?

We have a similar item, but larger, walnut, drawers below and on the ends with the opening top.
Tried the eating idea, but too tall after it's open, no way to adjust height with the complicated spring hinges.
We have six blankets stored in the top of ours.

Only bad thing about gun storage (besides not really being secure) is that it opens up the wrong way for someone on the couch to get to them quickly.

BLTs consumed. That bacon is good! I was worried it might not get crispy since it was so thick, but it crisped up nicely.
When you cook bacon in the oven, do you cover it with something?
The few times I've cooked bacon that way the grease spatter was a problem.
Tried one of those screens that's supposed to stop that, but it only helped a little.

I also tried parchment paper and that works great for the spatter, but it captures so much of the grease.
I like to keep bacon grease for other uses.

I don't cover it. I just use parchment paper on the bottom of the baking sheet. I cook it at 375 for about 20 minutes, then rotate the pan and cook another 6-8 minutes or until cooked to the desired crispness level. Never noticed any problem with spatter.

OK, so you're not trying to hoard bacon grease for the next gravy event like I am.

I used a sided cookie sheet, but I put a cookie cooler grid on the bottom, then the bacon on the grid so any grease drips through.

I also used a lower temp, but you've gotten me to think again.

I know the oven instead of skillet is very popular, almost a Stairway To Bacon Heaven for many.
