We had always talked about moving somewhere, like maybe Tennessee, when I retired, but now we've pretty much resigned ourselves to staying here. Nextdoor neighbor (in his 50's) has made the same decision. They're fixing up their place instead of looking for a retirement property.

He just had a 3 bay 2 story garage built recently, and now I noticed he's installed a lift. I have major garage envy. He told me he was thinking about it, and even said I would be welcome to use it any time. I may take him up on it if I can get him to teach me to do some things that would be best done with a lift.

Tennessee gave me what I wanted - 4 seasons. Susan would've preferred something farther south, like Florida for the heat. But she was willing to compromise, and actually came around to my way of thinking.
