Good Day Mom & gents. Exciting afternoon. Big dog and I went to shop about. 1:00. Soon found what I thought were the works of a mouse…never had 1 in there in 19 years. Long story short Pitt/Lab sidekick convinced me it was still there. And it was, only it was a chipmunk. 2.5 hours of fun later it was dead. Dog went in house and crashed…exhausted. I was about the same. Do you know how many things there are in my shop that a chipmunk can get behind, under, use to hide ? Many of which are too big and heavy for me to move. I ended up using an air hose with 4’ nozzle too flush it out several times. At end I grazed I it with an old spear I had and Lucy got it. She made sure it was dead, took it out to show Mom, dropped it, disappeared into house.

Now that is some manly adventure when it involves a spear and an air compressor.

Howdy Hardscrable! Reminds me of the time shortly after we moved in here. A chipmunk managed to get in our family room, which freaked Susan out (she's deathly afraid of them and mice). I got the door to the kitchen closed and had Susan hold the back door out to the deck open while I chased it around the family room (with lots of hiding places like you described). Finally had it making a beeline for the back door and Susan panicked and slammed the door, trapping it inside the family room. Had to start the chase all over again, but finally got it to run outside. :):

I knew I kept that around for some reason. Last thing it did was spear a carp about 12-14 years ago - young guy was here, never heard of spearing, and carp were running beside me. So the young guy speared a carp. Wasnt as easy as he thought but he finally figured it out and got 1. And his adrenaline was pumping

It's dead calm out this evening. Going to be hot and muggy tomorrow and Tuesday, and I'm not looking forward to having to wear "normal" clothes and shoes.

Minutes to go with the rotisserie.
Being summoned to get the gravy together.
Daughter is working on some Brussell's sprouts from the freezer.

Hadn't mentioned the bread machine. Not as predictable of late. This take was perfect!

    Heading to chow!
