I miss The Consulate House that used to be downtown. Best Chinese buffet I've ever had. That's where I first had General Tso's chicken. It had the whole red peppers in the sauce, and it wasn't drowning in sauce like so many other places.I wish we had a good chinese here in town. Just a cheap buffet and one that used to be good but when it got new ownership it went to crap.
We had a cheap buffet here too. Never went to it. Maybe just as well. They closed. We just order takeout from the place near us. We've been pretty happy with it whenever we get takeout.I wish we had a good chinese here in town. Just a cheap buffet and one that used to be good but when it got new ownership it went to crap.

I remember Mom serving us the canned stuff when I was a kid. The brand name escapes me now, but it was pretty popular back then.I like it better than chow mein.

La Choy. That stuff was terrible.I remember Mom serving us the canned stuff when I was a kid. The brand name escapes me now, but it was pretty popular back then.
Edit: It was LaChoy.
I hate to stir them up any more over there but boy is it tempting. I have some great lines I could use
Why would they care if you ordered egg rolls?Would like the same thing here. Ours was ok, but I think I upset them by ordering eggrolls all the time and they intentionally sabotaged my last order to give me the hint. Or at least that's what it seemed like.

I'm guessing they would make more money selling the egg rolls off the menu.I think they'd rather people just eat the buffet than order off the menu 20 eggrolls at a time.
