Yes, we spent $22k... but it was for handicapped accessible which is 2 or more times what everything else costs.
Yeah, it's expensive for sure. If we were remodeling the entire bathroom it would be closer to that, but this is just taking out the tub and putting in a shower.

There's now a third guy from the subcontractors here (supervisor I think) and he's been in contact with the TBA production manager. They *think* they may have a solution to the drain and other plumbing issues. Worst case for today is that they'd cap off the pipes so we can turn the water back on to the rest of the house. We kind of figured we wouldn't be able to use the shower tomorrow anyhow, so as long as we have water, we'll get by.

Good news. The co-owner of the subcontracting company is here and they were able to work out the plumbing issues. This kid seems pretty sharp and I think we may be using him to eventually do the rest of the bathroom. He's going to give me an estimate on removing some wall tile and taking it back to drywall, installing LVP flooring, and redoing the countertop with this epoxy stuff that winds up looking like granite or marble without removing the existing countertop.

Well, the water is back on, but no water to the shower. They're trying to figure out why. Got water to the bathroom sink and to all the other faucets in the house.
