Our McDonalds used to have about 4X the seating than the parking lot could sustain and they fixed that.

Yes they are.

We went to the community monthly pitch in dinner. Fried chicken was the main and the sides are provided by the attendees. Not to bad.

The wife and I are definitely on the younger side compared to our neighbors.

That's a good thing maybe. Susan and I are older than either of our next door neighbors, and we're pretty awesome.

On the other hand, if you thought it was hard to find kids that wanted to make a little extra money by shoveling your drive, pulling your weeds or mowing your lawn, it's much harder to find old people that are willing to do it.
