Just saw a story about some patch that's being developed for kids with peanut allergies. Why the hell are there so many kids with peanut allergies now? Every. Single. Public. School. served peanut butter sandwiches at least one day a week when I was a kid and nobody had peanut allergies.

I'm pretty sure I'd have starved to death as a kid if I were allergic to peanut butter.

I wouldn't have starved, but I would have been much less happy. I love me some peanut butter.

My BIL is allergic to peanuts though. I remember when I was a little kid, we went out to dinner with Mom, Dad, my sister and him at a Chinese restaurant. After eating some egg rolls, his throat started closing up. Found out that they used peanut butter as a filler/binder in their egg rolls.

This was back in the early 70's. I don't know if peanut oil was all that popular back then.
