We had a pretty good plant, until Covid.
People got that free money and now they figure they're entitled to being paid for sitting on their ass.
Our pay began to slide, and the good people started leaving for better pay.
Then they had to start hiring... well... we'll just say, less desirables.

I should have left along with the good ones, but I didn't want to lose my seniority and benefits.

They were never taught proper work ethics. Show up for work every day, Show up on time ready to go to work. Earn an honest day's pay. Stuff like that.

Yeah we always had a problem with turnover because of that. Sometimes we would get a new hire and they wouldn't even show up the next day. They wanna get paid but they don't want to work for it.

local factory up here used to hire almost 2x the amount of people they needed because at least half would quit after the first day of orientation. I don't think they do anymore, but they did for a small period of time
