Couldn't agree with Bill of Rights more. I think Mackey is a little off base here as well. Did the kid deserve an intentional elbow to the head? Most likely not. But it wasn't intentional, and hopefully this young one can learn from his booboo. After all, that is how we all learned not to do stupid stuff.

    The kid deserved it?
    Seriously. It's a kid for God's sake.
He was probably brought up by loving parents and was not use to violence.
Perhaps he's parents should have warmed him about gun nuts??!!
This gun owner should have been more aware of his surroundings.
He was in a place where they have Happy Meals and "Play Places" ... Kids all around.
Good job letting someone sneak up on you dumba$$ and not securing your weapon.

I won't stand in line to defend this dummy. Sorry.

This is not an OP CC issue. This is a stupid gun owner issue.

The kid may have deserved a stern warning, punishment from parents ...
but not a friggin elbow to the head!
A kid that age could have serious issues from this. This blow would be enough, easily, to cause a sub-dural hematoma which could cause DEATH among other things.

And some of you think he deserves it.
    You are messed up.

An adult, criminal or other BG may deserve something like this ... but an innocent child?

    Mackey,
I admire your courage for sticking up to these bullies. Sorry for the beating that you have taken. They act just like the gangs they hate only their blows are from words and not fists and kicks. It's still a gang beating anyway you look at it.

I think the kid should have been clocked if it was a Iphone, or just a belt loop, I wouldn't let my kids mess with strangers and I don't expect other parents to allow kids to run around touching people

Remember the lesson that Macky wants to teach. If you evil oc'ers feel someone tugging at your firearm, be sure to turn around and verify the age of the person before taking action to retain your weapon. If it is a child, simply let them have the weapon. That is better then hurting them by mistake or on purpose.

Also, if you get raped, it is your fault for wearing tight clothes and make-up. If you get mugged, it is your fault for letting people see your expensive watch. Besides, you should have seen them coming. Also, people who follow the teachings of Macky will never be in a traffic accident because they are aware of all vehicles at all times. Be sure to put people at ease during a conversation. You won't be looking at them, instead your head will be swiveling around. Inform them you aren't being impolite, you are just being aware of your surroundings so that you can't be mugged/disarmed.

Above all, remember that carrying in the open is offensive to people and will only serve to make gun-laws tougher. If you just hide your guns, people will call for laws to relax gun-control since they won't be scared to go out in public with all those scary and visible guns. Black civil-rights were won because they kept their mouths shut and stayed indoors. Gay rights are being won because they aren't vocal and don't bother people. Once the public realized these groups of people weren't out making noise, they wrote their Congress and demanded equal rights.

Thank you Mackey. To OC in public is not a smart thing to do. Taun Taun asks "what if it was an older child/person?" A 16 yo is probably strong enough and/or smart enough to knock you down as or before grabbing your gun. Why take the chance by OCing (showing off) a weapon that could be used against you?

You are probably smart enough to realize that such weak opinions wouldn't last long in an actual open carry argument thread.

Which is probably why you put it here instead. ;)
