I am still to scared to OC in Bloomington. I walk a lot in downtown near the campus and I am afraid of a student calling the police and thus causing me a headache. I think that I will can muster up the courage to start doing this summer after the students have left town.

I've CC'd (poorly) in College Park Mall. I printed like a mo-fo and didn't care who saw it, including the security dweebs.

I chuckled at the guy walking around the mall in the Master Chief costume promoting Halo. He wasn't even armed with his prop.

Man I saw that mall cop too. I actually felt bad for him, because i was thinking if i was him, "so if a madman starts shooting up the mall, i guess ill throw my flashlight at his head, and hopefully ill knock him out or something, or hide behind a trash can while someone with a gun can make the scary man go away."

Last week, I spent quite a few hours on Kirkwood. While I was printing through my T-shirt really really bad, nobody said anything.

Question: While there, my brother, nephew and myself went into the Student Union for a while to shoot some pool. Is carry prohibited there? While we were on campus, I put my gun in the car just in case but wasn't sure what the carry status is for on campus.

If you're going into the Student Union you're on campus, so you'll be violating University policy. From what I've heard they can only ask you to leave, but if you're a student there could be significant punishment like expulsion or suspension.

I posted this story in the "Where did you OC?" thread, but this happened in Bloomington so I thought I would share with ya'll...

I was OC'ing at the grill/picnic area at my friend's apartment complex while we grilled some steaks. There were a couple other families hanging out as well (including young children and a pregnant woman). I was playing with my friend's six-month old daughter and I got complements from several of the women telling me how cute I was with her. Nobody even mentioned my gun... Just the way I like it :)

Didn't happen in Bloomington, but I was OC'ing at Fair Oaks Mall in Columbus a few days ago helping my son buy some stuff at Waldenbooks. He needed to use his gift card before the company finally shuts down. The ladies working there said nothing to me about carry, and one actually complemented me on being a good father as I was helping my son buy his stuff.

Before we walked out, my gun jumped out of my holster and shot every copy of the Twilight books, just for good measure.

Since July 1st, I've started OCing every time I take my daughter to the pubic library here in Monroe county. My plan is to do this in public places where liberals congregate, like libraries, parks, trails, ect. They can't make me leave. All that they can do is rant and throw a tantrum. My goal is to have people see the sane, rational man with his daughter and a firearm being accosted by the screaming, ranting soccer mom. in the Obama sticker covered minivan. Let the general public decide first hand which one of us is dangerous.

I love how every OC thread is jacked by the CC-only-ers saying "I'm not trying to threadjack, but I'd never do it....." for no other reason than that's their personal feelings. =)

Never OC in B-town. I always like the element of surprise. Besides I'm a people watcher and it's funny to go to the mall, to watch folks that CC. Especially the newbys. I mean they walk and sat down like they have something to hide. Besides I get a kick out of the over weight, non-carrying sec. officer that Simons malls hired. Like what are they going to do. Yell STOP!
    :tantrum:

Sorry I think I will just CC.

That dude escorted me out of the mall to my car to put a pocket knife away because some guy made a complaint about it being visible, I try to do all my shopping out side of the mall now. I was pretty upset with them over the incident and it was pretty embarrassing being escorted out for a pocket knife.

FYI: It's entirely LEGAL for you to carry on campus. There aren't any laws against it (provided you steer clear of any head-start, preschools, licensed day care facilities, etc)

Since you're enrolled there, I'd certainly not OPEN carry. You could find yourself expelled before the dust settles.

If may be legal, but it's legal for them to expel you just the same (school policy).
