Been up for hours and hours. Not sure I actually ever went to sleep. Might have to catch up on my sleep at the range today. My daughter had a sleep over and the girls watched the STAR WARS series on blu-ray with the surround sound pumped up enough to shake the house . . . all night long!

--FINANCIAL UPDATE--
Pre-Event Pot: $69.67 (jediagh)
Expenses: -$12.84 (6 brooms; 6 dust pans donated to range)
Donations: NONE
Post-Event Pot: $56.83

Thank you to our donors who have made it possible to give the range plywood each time we have been out. We have now donated 37 boards in 2011 (26 donated in 2010).

This month the range request brooms and dustpans so that is what we took them. Next month we will continue with our plywood donations to continue to keep them stocked up.

The brooms and dustpans had the following in black market on them.

--FOOD UPDATE--
We have 16 burgers left; 24 dogs and 20 brauts left, 2 bags of chips, last ketchup, mustard and relish bottles. What we are now low on is buns.

Hopefully we can finish all of this off next month once we close the season off. Oh and we only got 6 cans of coke left.

GB can you please thank your guest for the bags of chips.

--NEW GUEST--
We had several first timers around (2 that Goober135 brought, 1 by GB) plus one general public shooter that participated in the competition. We had 13 members + 3 guest + 1 public in attendance. [17 total]


--SPECIAL EVENTS--
We had 2 NWI INGO competitions this time around.

Goober135 did a pumpkin shoot-off and wow! It was wild! We have a tie for first place so those shooters ended up doing a shoot-off and the winner won by 1 point! Bother great shooters BTW. I'll let Goober135 talk more about this part. The prizes were the bomb BTW.


Rifle & Handgun Balloon Target Competition
The winners were:

1st Place: Shooting Dave with a score of 110
2nd Place: Larissa (sadclown's guest) with a score of 90
3rd Place (tie): Juan V with a score of 85
3rd Place (tie): Collin (Gobber135's guest) with a score of 85

Shooting Dave traded the first place for Larissa's second place price. 1st place was a $5 Cabela's gift card. 2nd place was a GunBunnies "sexy" poster. Both were very happy to trade prizes. Shooting Dave gets a "girl" and Larissa gets to go shopping!

& lastly the "boo-boo" prize for last place goes to Dan Q (Goober135's guest) with a score of -5.


He got our "rotten hotdog" LAST PLACE award.

The on going joke is that if you say you are going to come and you do not show up we leave a hot dog in the wooded area for you. So that the next time you get to eat the old hot dog!

Keep practicing boys & girls. Next month Goober says we will be shooting turkeys with the rifles. I will be focusing on a strictly handgun one.

Prizes to be determined but for sure the "boo-boo" prize will return.


--MY DAY--
Well I got to the range at 7:45AM (left the house at 6AM) so I could have some alone time before all the losers showed up that ended up NOT showing up. WD, Magic Man, Clif45!

Focusing on just my 10/22 with the appleseed targets. Still have not added the sling. I have the hardware but to chicken to drill the holes myself.

In any case my scores where as follows with 10/22 with TechSights + Federal Bulk Ammo:
Test 1 = 182 (sharpshooter)
Test 2 = 182 (sharpshooter)
Test 3 = 168 (marksman)
Test 4 = 202 (sharpshooter)
Test 5 = 222 (Expert: Rifleman)


So it appears I do NOT need to get that sling since I can do it using no sling and "OK" bulk ammo. Wonder how much better my score can be if I do use a sling and CCI MiniMags which I know are a better ammo in my 10/22.

What I have found out is if I shoot while I exhale or at the end of the exhale I can't break the 200 score. However if I exhale and then hold my breath for 1 to 2 second and during that time fire I score much better. Plus I think I finally learned how to lock my arms into place while on the floor to not allow the rifle to move around while I shoot (ie. take the recoil into my body).

Also put some rounds thru the AK since I have not given her any love in a while. All my shots were going high and a bit to the left. Not sure how to adjust the sights on this gun. Tried turning the front sight but it would not move. Perhaps the sight are sighted for 50 or 100 yards and thus why I'm shooting high? No clue. What I did notice is the kick is no longer there. Guess I'm getting used to how much it kicks and have adjusted to it.

What I did notice this time around was the noise was much less. You see I had my regular earplugs and then I added a second set of muffs on top of my head so the noise level went way down.
Should had done this a long time ago. What a N00b!

Other Guns
Sadclown I am going to have to try you M&P 9 with the small grips next time. That gun felt good in my hands. Finally a 9mm that feels good. Now I just have to see how it shoots.

GB always fun to shoot your toys! But that AR pistol is just oh so wrong.

Here you can see the 2 thieves that stole my brass and coffee can! The Jamaican with his sunglasses and beard and his side-kick in the red shirt. We need to get a wanted poster up for these two. They are armed and dangerous!

I could understand your consternation if the can actually had coffee inside, but it only had some dirty old brass cases . . . as I said, I'll dump those out, wash the can, and return it to you 'good as new.'
