Looks like a good day for planting.

I have one pallet left of Stella d'oro day lilies that I need to get into the ground. They will be planted around a 7' tall Moai head that overlooks the swimming pool. Should fill in the area nicely and the bright yellow flowers bloom for longer periods of time than traditional day lilies.

Mostly I'm looking forward to being done with the planting.

We had an entire pick up truck load of lilies, the bed was stuffed full, the back seat had plastic bins with lilies. Got all of them for FREE.

Maybe not actually free? They have cost me a sore back and about a half bottle of Advil over the past several days.

Just bought tickets to it again for July at the Illinois Railway Museum.

I had several people ask me about this event last year after I posted photos. Tickets sold out last year. Pretty sure they will sell out again this year.

As to your sore back and train-load of flowers you've been planting, I say any boy big enough to go on train rides is big enough to plant flowers! You be the supervisor!
