Jedi, I just saw on WGN channel 9 news there is a new Legoland Discovery Center in Schaumburg,Il and the grand opening is tomorrow with star wars themes. Just incase you didn't know about this.

Do they also have Playmobil at these
events?
Not true. There are many other species that will kill their own kind. Bears and one Lions both will.
Sometimes two chicks will survive, but it is not uncommon for the older eaglet to kill the smaller one, especially if the older is a female, as females are consistently larger than males. Should one chick decide to kill its sibling, neither parent will make the slightest effort to stop the fratricide.
H**** F*****
It is stricly 100% LEGO.
The one in IL is the main one. It is a 3 to 4 day conference for Adult Fans of LEGO (AFoL) in which on Thr and Fri there are workshops and presentations and games and social events. On SAT and SUN it's the open to the public stuff along with The LEGO Company (at times) showcasing new product lines as well as evening games/events for conference attendies.
The one in Indy is more of a general open to the public expo. Never been to the one in Ft. Wayne but suspect it's like the Indy one.
AFOLs have 3 main conferences a year. East coast, West coast and Mid-west region. There are smaller events in-between in secondary cities (st. louis, kanas city, etc..) as well.
here are pics from the 2007 Brickworld in Wheeling, IL before it got real big and moved to Schamburg.

Looks like it's a mini LEGOLAND with all sort of activities for the kids.
$68 for a family of 4 for the day at the "park".
It's past O'hare which is what I really don't like. Not to mention in IL as well.
I'm talking the kids to see The Cat In The Hat at the Apollo Theater, 2540 North Lincoln Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614 later this month and was thinking of going to Cheesecake factory at the watertower since they have American Girl and The LEGO Store right there as well.
Dreading have to drive to the Apollo and then to downtown. Just don't see anywhere else where a Cheesecake Factory is closer.
Last summer the 8 yo grandson ordered over $25,000.00 of legos on the parents lap top, the credit card company called the SIL to confirm the order and the grandson was chewed out for his ordering and saved the SIL a big bill. Take the train instead of driving and show the kid how fun it is for a cab death ride in chicago traffic.
