Any last minute ideas to celebrate Valentine's Day in NW Indiana? I thought I was going to have to work, but got someone to trade with me.

I know, right? Until last year, I hadn't had a Valentine's date in about 15 years, and that was a disaster. OK, more of a disappointment than a disaster, but still...

Actaeon is free. Well maybe not free, but reasonable.

I saw the Marquee sign at the ome on 30 and Mississippi last year had a number for valentines day reservations, I thought it was a joke.

Reservations on Valentine's Day are a must. With reservations you'll probably be seated an hour after the scheduled time anyway. The wife and keep talking about going here: Latitudes Waterfront Dining & Events at Marina Shores, Portage Indiana

We usually go out on the day before Valentine's Day as to avoid the CF of humanity. Plus, no one is out because they are going to blow their wad on the actual day.

It must be a pretty good place as I just tried to make a reservation on the 13th and they are booked!

Before the rumor mill starts as per the HobartPD:
"This evening, January 26, 2016, we received information of a vague threat toward Hobart High School tomorrow. The message was posted to a generic computer application that serves as a message board through itunes. It only takes a Facebook user name to access. The Hobart Police Department is already thoroughly investigating the origin of the message.

While we do not believe that there is any merit to the “anonymous” post, out of an abundance of caution…we will have an extra police presence at the school throughout the day. We want to ensure there are no weapons brought to school, and of course, no undesirable visitors. Most importantly, we want to minimize the disruption in our children’s educational process.

We want to thank those concerned parents and students that reached out to us with the information. We appreciate being able to get the information early, so we can thoroughly pursue the matter. If anyone has any further information or leads, please contact our Investigations at (219) 942-3406."

Ok. Tip: Their online reservation scheduler is not accurate as I tested several days months later and it says booked. So I called and got a table on the 13th at the exact time I wanted, so a phone call to Latitudes Waterfront Dining & Events at Marina Shores, Portage Indiana is the way to go!

And yes I am still in the area. Having a rough time of it coming back from the surgery I had back in November. I guess I need to attend more than one area function a year to be visible huh? LOL
