Rain gauge reads 1.5" from yesterday. Getting ready for a 2 mow week.

Hopeful these clouds go away and it heats up. This guy is in need of some beach time!

They say more rain possible this evening.

Pool is full. 1 more inch and it will overflow. It was at the bottom of the "skimmer" before the rain. It is over the top of the skimmer now. That is every bit of 4" of new water in the swimming pool.

    Garden is watered!!!

Grass is growing but the ground is too soggy to get a tractor out to mow it.

Back field has become a seasonal lake, about 2 acres worth of surface water flooded the corn.

I know the feeling. Our pasture was a river that ran into a lake. It will be a few days before it is dry enough to think about getting the tractor out. I found out how badly I rutted the back pasture last time I mowed it damp.

I like sitting on my tractor and all (which is when I get caught up on podcasts), but I have other things that need to get done. Honestly, I am a little torn. I tilled and planted grass seed in about 3/4 of what the previous owners had for a garden (90x40.....too much garden for us) and having a break from running the sprinkler is nice...and I would LOVE to have THAT grass grow...but the established grass? If it could just green up and not grow so much.....

I so agree. We have grass seed planted to repair areas the landscapers killed, but the rest is growing way too much. My fenced pastures are really getting bad.

I'm trying to grow about .1 acre of it.

Yeah, I get it....but geez. The rain is great for the 3600 sq/ft I seeded last week....it's the other 100,000 or so sq/ft that I could stand growing a little slower.

I mowed the mini horse's mini pasture Friday. We have to keep her off wet grass and limit her grass intake when it is growing fast.

We have a pony that can't go on grass at all, poor thing. He has foundered twice in the past and had EPM, so he is very strictly watched.

Yep, that's enough of this warm weather nonsense. Bring back winter. I'm talking real winter like '13/'14 polar vortex style.

Finished mowing the yard and soaking up some Sun. Good thing. The sky to the NW looks angry...

Plus, the wife just pulled a strawberry pie out of the oven!
