Did you get any on you?
    Nah.
Just got tired of an old LCD TV screen taking up space in the spare bedroom.
And tripping/kicking an old printer in the hallway.

    Pain is a motivator.

I had to call the Merrillville street dept. to find out where to take them.
Online, M'ville told me to go to Lake county.
And Lake county told me to go to M'ville.
So, while I was at the Legion waiting for the beer delivery, I decided to call.

Also, when you're waiting for the beer guy to show up, and you have to poop...

The guy will ALWAYS show up when you're on the toilet.
    ALWAYS.
I hear that. Customer will tell me they'll be there at 2pm. Sit down for a shat at noon and sure as hell who shows up

Other great thing is phone rings while you're finishing up. Pants down, wiping your ass....ring, ring, ring.....Ugh

I know I've divulged to much info here but after the day I've had, I don't give a ****

I'm not sure any real recycling gets done nowadays. At work we recycle a lot of paper, which I believe does get recycled, and at home we sort out plastics, etc ... , but anything else goes in the dumpster at work.

Aluminum is economically recyclable. Steel in large enough quantities like car bodies. I don't know how much sense it makes to worry about dogfood cans and screw tops. Anything with copper, brass. Lead. Most everything else is waste and even though they might recycle some of it it's at a loss but no matter,....it's your tax dollars that are being lost and they get the good feels publicity wasting your money.

Look at it in the most simple terms,.....

If a scrapyard will give you money for it, it's worth recycling. If they won't, it's probably not.

Brings back memories of growing up in East Chicago and my grandpa telling me to haul the old tires he took off his car to the alley, along with the used oil in a milk jug, and dead battery.

Toss the oil and battery into the metal round garage can. Put the tires next to the can as best as possible. Next day magically the city garbage truck would take it away.

Entire tree branches as well when he cut the infested cherry tree.

Now-a-days the ***** city won't take a garage bag if it's too heavy. Don't you dare put tree branches that fell unless you cut them to under 10".

Half the time in Crown Point the garbage cans and the recycle cans get dumped in the same truck.

Recycling is a waste of time.
    It does not get recycled.
It use to be shipped to China when the Chinese were stockpiling massive amounts of material.

Now a days that market has dried up and it just gets tossed in landfill for the most part as the process of getting the "recycling materials" removed from the non-recyxling is NOT worth the cost.

The public has been lied to for years on this.

Yep, it's all based on what they're stockpiling. That's why the flyers were so confusing. One month #5 plastics were a go, then the next month a no-go.
