It makes the UN look ineffective. We should be concerned about that, because we want a really strong UN to push sovereign nations around.
Like after they adopt their little gun control treaty?
Be careful what you wish for.
Why is it the business of the UN to make rules for sovereign nations? If North Korea wants to test a rocket, they should be able to. We test ours.

I dunno. The original League of Nations was a failure. Now the United Nations, which was formed as a replacement organization is clearly a failure. Both relied on a couple strong nations to act as "world police" and for weak nations to comply. Both are miserable failures. Why does the UN think their rules and resolutions mean anything?
When has North Korea ever told the truth?NK agreed to not do this.
Why should we stop them? Seriously why should we intervene in the internal affairs of foreign nations? Has anyone harmed the very neutral nation of Switzerland? Maybe instead of beating our chests like King Kong we should consider minding our own business. We didn't do anything about Saddam for years, we let NK shoot a missle.
Why?We should have blasted that thing as soon as it was gaining elevation.
Most of the world is and they use us to do their dirty work. We are the idiots.Makes the world look soft.
I just did.What says you?
This

Because N Korea agreed to NOT do this in exchange for various food aid and other benefits and violated their agreement
Maybe the Donald can buy the UN Headquarters and convert it to condos. Evict the UN and they can move to Jersey.I'm all in favour of people ignoring the UN. If enough people do it, maybe they'll pack it up and all go home.
Mmmm...no, they didn't. They agreed to suspend their nuclear weapons program. This rocket launch wasn't a nuclear weapons test. It was, according to the NoKos, a satellite launch. We haven't stopped Iran from doing the same thing. Or China.Because N Korea agreed to NOT do this in exchange for various food aid and other benefits and violated their agreement

Here's the irony. What's worse, a UN dominated by the US, or an American global empire, with the US directly in control and calling the shots?Yes, we can only hope. But there are many people in this country who are dying to pass our rights on to some one world system.
The simple solution is to not make any more agreements. They have violated every agreement with us that I can ever think of and probably have violated every UN agreement they ever made. Who is surprised by this? Why are we (and the fine folks at the UN) such idiots to believe they would not violate an agreement when their history is long and rich with deceit?
Both are equally terrifying. Here's the irony. What's worse, a UN dominated by the US, or an American global empire, with the US directly in control and calling the shots?
Treaties are like contracts and promises. Made to be broken, or rather, observed in the breach. If you trust the other partner, don't need a writing. The simple solution is to not make any more agreements.
