What's your experience with noise cancelling ear muffs in a indoor range? I wonder if the acoustic environment created by the shooting stalls impacts their effectiveness.

My Caldwells work just fine. If it's a busy day, they pretty much continue to be cut out of sound. If you or someone is firing a high caliber (say above .357 mag) then you might consider doubling up. So, basically, they work the same indoor and outdoor.

Another vote for the peltors. But on a busy indoor range, they still are useless for voices. Outdoor for classes and training? They are phenomenal. Probably the best bang for your buck.

I would have to check the brand but cables had some 25$ marked down from $50 first pair I have had but I really like them.

I am going to have to try another pair. Back when they first got popular I got a pair for teaching. but I noticed my ears hurt after each class. I found out that the science of the time was such that while the headset would knock out the initial shot, it would not get any echos off the walls. They were fine for outdoor use. I take it they are better now.

I've got the Walker Game Ear and bave been really happy with them. Indoor ranges I still usually double up with foam plugs but crank the volume up on my muffs so I can hear talking if I need too.
