Don't worry, doc, all the INGOtarians will be here to advocate for the free market system in medicine. It's not like Reason magazine was advocating Obamacare or anything, I mean how silly would that be?

Did I just hear the sound of Kirk driving the needle on the 'sarcasmometer' through the side of the gauge's brass case?

How much are junior doctors paid, and why are they threatening to strike? - Telegraph

Screw the British government on this one trying to cut the doctors pay by 30% and expecting them to just lay down and take it. I mean the average pay for a full fledged doctor is not even that good in Britain coming in at around 55,000 pounds a year. Doctors are for the most part the best educated and most highly sought after people on the planet I don't think the British government realizes these doctors can work anywhere in the world pretty easily.

Army poised to cover for striking NHS doctors - Telegraph

single payor healthcare means socialized healthcare. And that means the docs work for the government, not for you.
It means no incentive to provide more personal care, innovative care, work late, etc.

if you want it, there it is, go and get it. Just not if all the docs are on strike that day.

    Hillary and Bernie are proud.

You do realize this is going on in the UK, not the US?

If the liberals have things there way we can expect it here in a few years.

Aren't Hillary and Bernie both prouder of European socialism than American exceptionalism? :dunno:

    I'd say yes.

Hippocratic Oath doesn't say they can't demand more pay and better working conditions.

When the government pays the benefits they set what price they want to pay. Look at medicare. The Insurance company's & government will set the prices they will pay and eventually it won't be a profitable profession.

The issue has nothing to do with what you call socialism or American "exceptionalism." It has to do with the pay the doctors are getting, the hours they work, and the pay structure for what they call "unsociable" hours (what we call overtime).

Or, they could let doctors work for themselves and let them work and allow the market determine their pay and hours. But neither Burnie nor Clinton would approve, so I guess that'd be extra double poopy.

Maybe their government is cutting their pay because it's running out of other peoples money.

You do realize that you are condescending on a position you assigned to Bwframe, not what he actually said?

Since you apparently missed his point, let me spell it out for you: People like the two named individuals support this type of system and intend to bring it here. It doesn't work. Consequently, if we don't get it stopped, we will be having these same problems here sooner rather than later.

I wasn't being condescending about anything. If I were I'd be asking things like "don't any of you read about the issue before commenting?" As far as Sanders or Clinton bringing a single payer healthcare system they can't do it on their own with a wave of their socialist wand. IF it comes here it will be because the legislation was bought and paid for by private interests that can profit from such a system.
