Just an observation... I noticed that as soon as everyone had expended or thought they had expended the last round, their finger immediately came off the trigger into the proper resting position. It may not seem like a big deal, but when dealing with so many people and even more rifles, that impressed me.

Really cool to see some of the different configs on some otherwise average rifles. I love it.

    The Aftermath

I went down on Monday morning to work on the range and get it back into it's normal configuration.

My first observation was how clean it was. I wasn't at the range when the shooting was over so I didn't reallize how much everyone did.

I normally pick up the remnants of brass from the weekend just to tidy up. I barely found any! You folks did a wonderful job of policing the brass. Thank you, thank you, thank you! :)

Even the tarps were up and folded! Wow.

I started moving stuff off the range. Hauled the splintered wood posts into the woods. Raked some of the soft dirt that was sprinkled across the face of the dam.

Before the rains started, Mrs. LMW came down and took some pictures in her typical style. She likes to take close-up shots of common things to help the viewer see them in new ways.

    Here are just a few.

Mrs. Claus didn't fare too well on Sunday.

The oak trunk section was no match for the 1919!

The bowling pins added some movement to our targets. They gave their all for us!

Note the .45ACP round about to come out the bottom of the pin. Many of the pins have bumps where rounds are buldging out the plastic surface of the pin.

We made mulch out of several tree sections.

Even in destruction, life goes on as this bee dines on the remnants of a pumpkin.

Fall is coming; a beautiful time of year in this area. I just wish it wasn't followed by winter!

Cleaning up has been much simpler this year since the weather was so nice. Last year with the monsoon rains, everything had to be powerwashed before being stored.

This year's clean-up was made possible by everyone who pitched in to do their part. My thanks to you all. :)

    Techres,

I just watched the One Love video. Mere words cannot express my amazement in your creativity and delightful sense of humor!

You are setting the bar very high for those of us who are pleased to just post a simple unedited video.

    I agree with Shooter521...there isn't enough rep....:rockwoot:

Each year I sort the brass cases that hit the ground during NFA Weekend.

The shotgun hulls and steel cases go to the trash. (If someone wants 5 gallons of hulls, let me know.)

Reloadable brass gets sorted and cleaned and the brass that can't be reloaded is collected and may eventually get sold for scrap along with my own scrap brass.

I will reload some of the cases and sell the rest on INGO to fellow reloaders. The proceeds help me host NFA Day and other events throughout the year.

    So, this year's stats:

    Reloadable brass: 121.4 pounds

    Scrap brass: 22.5 pounds

Hulls and steel cases: 99 pounds

Total material collected over the two day weekend:
243 pounds (that's 26.4 gallons or 5+ five gallon buckets)
