Ok, help me out here... how long typically between "approved" and the stamp actually arriving? Looks like about a week based on recent responses in this thread, but now I'm hearing people say it could still be weeks or even MONTHS?!??

Trying to extend my patience, but once I heard "approved" 9 days ago I started getting pretty antsy again.

A month is not out of the norm at all.

Was your submitted eform? If so, they don't Mail, go back to website & save approved form with stamp.

All my non eforms, usually had within a couple weeks.

This baffles the hell outta me. Why in the hell are we doing NCIS checks on NFA items? Did the ATF not do a good enough job? Stupid

He used a trust that's why. Technically background checks aren't done on trusts so whoever goes to pick it up a 4473 has to be done so they know it's being released to a "proper" person.

Individuals don't need called in because as you said, the background check has already been done.

Post 41F trusts won't need to be called in (responsible person questionnaire gives the ATF the "ability" to do a background check on the responsible people in the trust)

The only time I've ever been delayed was when I needed the gun for a shoot on Sunday and I bought it on Saturday. It even went the full waiting period before it was approved. I was on the way to pick it up on the last day and he checked to see and it was approved. Damn BATFE!
