They hate the "fake news" moniker Trump hung on them but keep living up to it.

Just made a retraction that the crowd the said was just 1000 in TN rally was estimated 5500 by fire marshal.

Liberal media has never been good at estimating crowd sizes.
Just look at the "Million Mom march".

Truth and facts have no place in the Democratic party.

The media no longer reports fact. It's about persuasive sensationalist news that brings in advertising money and also what Kirk Freeman said in the previous post. It's fairly disgusting.

I have no idea why the NYT would lie about crowd size... maybe they were keep in, with the theme of the rally.

Things that were false or fudged, by the president:

-The Tax Cut was the largest in American history (it's 4th)
-That wages were going up for the first time in many years (false; they started increasing under the prior administration)
-Mexico is paying for the wall (the Mexican president say that's false)
-Border crossing are down 40% (false, they are actually up 2% this year as of April)
-African-American voters have been voting for Democrats for over 100 years (uhhh... FALSE)
-Our country is respected again, all over the world. (open to interpretation, but the global view of the US has gone down, per pew research)
-I'm the only politician that produce more than he said he would produce. (O'rly?)
-Our laws are the worst laws of any country, anywhere in the world (Uhhhh...ok?)

If they made a retraction, it was probably more the normal media "rush to be first, worry about being right later" that we see so often. I see that with local news. I'll read an article on some crime and not even realize it's my case until I get to a name.

If the media reports there's been a plane crash, there's probably been a plane crash. Cause, number of casualties, etc. won't be sorted out until a week later, but they'll speculate/guess/make up things until then.

You are as bad as the "but Obama" crowd these days.

Because when the president lies or embellishes, I set the record straight? You should be appreciative that unlike members who had issue with previous administration, and would throw up nonsense about: Obama giving up control of the internet to the UN, Obama wanting a Second Bill of Rights, How Smart is Obama, Obama statues, Obama visits a mosque, Obama is part of the Muslim Brotherhood, Slimy Obama in Iraq...
....I have done anything but. I don't start endless threads about the president (and you KNOW how much I dislike him). I don't bring up anything, I can't cite from a non-tinfoil source, and I have always referred to president by his name or office. I'm clear that if I used the same tactics that people used on the previous administration, heads would explode, panties twisted, and feelings hurt. So no, I'm not as bad as the "but Obama" crowd. But that's my opinion.

Any statement that advances the Cause of socialism is moral. It is a basic tenet of Marxism-Leninism.

Well, they seem to favor the solution of retconning their own archive over exhibiting any verifiable consistency

Yes, it is soo puzzling why NYT would create a false narrative about a president they hate.

The Mexico paying for the wall scoffing never made any sense to me. Mexico has no say over if they pay for it or not. We could tax money that is sent to Mexico, their greatest source of income in the country. In my book that is paid by Mexico. They could pay for it with tariffs. I recently saw a proposal that the wall could be paid for and more by using seized cartel drug money. So many simpletons buy into thinking the only way Mexico pays is if we send a bill. Lots of ways for Mexico to pay for a wall.

Our country is way more respected today than in the previous administration. I'm tired of the bs of using liberal metrics and calling it fact. We are respected more like a tough sergeant and not like a pushover homeroom teacher. That will not show in your liberal popularity contest polls.

I do believe this president has done more of what he promised than any I have ever Seen.

No, because when someone talks about someone or something anti-Trump, you throw "but Trump" into the conversation. Whether the NYT lied on purpose or not has nothing to do with any lies that Trump may or may not have told. It is just as tiresome to see as those that always throw out "but Obama" when Trump is accused of something. I don't appreciate any of the "but ????" :poop:.

You usually have better things to contribute, so why don't you stick to that instead of this nonsense.

Nothing you just said refutes the claim that what you did is the same thing the “But Obama” people do. You only tried to justify it. The “but Obama” people can say exactly the same kinds of things about the other side to justify it.

So would you like to give it another try? Or are you going to stay pat that it’s okay when you do it because Trump is extra EXTRA poopy.

Let me get this straight. If someone makes a comment that references Trumps and one of his complaints. Then, by me also referencing Trump and his words at the EXACT same event be referenced, it's the same as "but Obama?" No, it's not.

If Trump talks complains about people lying, it COMPLETELY fair to point out his lying. The "but Obama" logic, revolves around someone making a complaint about Trump, and then someone "out of the blue" brings up Obama. There's a noteworthy difference between the two...because in the OP, Trump is clearly mentioned

No the "but Obama" logic is about excusing or deflecting something about Trump with the excuse of but Obama did something as bad or worse. This thread was about an accusation that the NYT lied. Your reply was that Trump lied. Trump's lying has no bearing on whether the NYT lied or not. It is pure deflection.

As Jamil said, you are just trying to justify it like those that use the "but Obama" defense. These deflections get worse with each swing of the pendulum. "but Clinton", "but Bush", "but Obama", it gets old from any angle.

Then "Trump" shouldn't have appeared in the OP. Your complaint would be valid had that reference not been included.... but it was.

I think you should go back and review what’s being said. You’re doubling down on the thing you just claimed you’re not doing.

Kut. I hate to say it. I think you may be suffering from TDS. It’s a good thing to be appropriately critical of elected officials. But justifying being selectively critical just because the other side did it isn’t a justification. It just makes being selectively critical “okay” depending on which side you want to take.

Nope, don't buy it. If someone makes a reference to Trump talking about false news, pointing out his own fake news, from the very event cited is just as valid. It goes to very sense of hypocrisy of the individual. The converse of TDS is TWS (Trump Worship Syndrome)
