It's nice to see another that appreciates these rifles.
Nice buy at that price with a bayonet yet. :)

I think I bought mine for around $230 off a gentleman nearly two years ago. No bayonet though.
I hope you have a stash of ammo though. I'd guess that you've seen what both the surplus and new production is going for nowdays. :faint:

I nearly forgot. For on-topic answer to the OP.
Best deal for me would have to be the $55 out the door Delton AR-15 lower receiver I purchased around this time last year.
But for a complete rifle, I'd have to go with the $205 shipped refurbished MAS 36/51 that I picked up from a collector. Unfired since refurbishing. I know these went for a little less many years ago, but I bought this one about 3 years ago.

Nice. I need to get an MAS36 at some point but I keep finding other things first. :): I do have a couple of Stutzens also... one Budapest and one Bulgarian contract gun from Steyr. Someday down the road I'd like to get my hands on a BRNO. I do love these things, but you ain't kidding about the ammo. I have a stash, but it's small enough that I don't take them out often... and my shoulder thanks me. :):

Sako TRG-42 338LM with all accessories and Nightforce NXS 5.5x22 scope for nothing out of pocket, but did get it used after 3 rounds were fired (I fired 4 and 5 ;-).

Wow, I need to shop where you guys shop. My best deal was a Ruger SP101 .357 magnum for $250 puchased at Pop Guns (believe it or not) in 2000.

1993 H&K SP89 new in box for $250.00. Was sitting on a back shelf at the gun shop I managed. Owner just let me buy it for cash in his pocket. Sold it in 1995 for $3500.00, wish I still had it.

I bought my first handgun (a glock 19) for a case of beer and $50 right after I got out of college. Friend of mine got the gun from his ex as a b-day present and he never even took it out of the case - kept it for about 15 months and decided it was just taking up space. Needless to say, I was happy to help him out!

A Schultz & Larsen Model 65 in 7x61 Sharpe & Hart that I traded a guitar amp for.

I had ten bucks in the guitar amp. Another rifle I wish I had kept.

All of the "wish I still had that one"'s in this thread, and countless others, is why I never have and never will sell or trade a gun! Thank you all for teaching me through your own experiences! ;)
