So in your view it is morally A-OK to kill game animals without a permit, it's simply a matter of legality.

Moral? I guess it depends on how it is done. I saw a lot of jaw shot deer in Texas so I don't think that is moral to do that but it is legal.

I have no moral problems with hunting or having the General Assembly pass laws as to regulation of hunting. Even though Indiana's prohibition of centerfire rifles makes no sense, I do not dispute their authority to have such a rule.

If game animals are the property of the collective, then the collective is liable for the damage they cause.

Maybe, it depends how far into sovereign immunity one runs.

Gotta love a society who believes it to be immoral to live the Kilcher homesteader lifestyle (using everything but the noise the animal makes) if you don't have a hunting or fishing license but it's perfectly moral to hunt with a license for no purpose other than to put antlers on a wall.

I don't agree with that practice.

I don't believe he's necessarily immoral to live this lifestyle but he is breaking the laws of the state in which he lives. In general, with out knowing all the intricacies of Montana game laws, they are constitutional and reasonable.

Wasting resources in this manner is immoral, in my opinion.

Trophy hunting and fishing is a multi billion dollar industry. If deer didn't have antlers, how many fewer hunters would there be in Indiana?

There are hunters who believe horn hunting is immoral. But it's perfectly legal.

You do realize that collecting a trophy and mounting it on your wall doesn't necessarily mean the rest of the animal was wasted? Similarly, I know many folks that take does regardless of the fact most don't have antlers.

The "rule of law" is not some magical universal standard, immutable to the whims of society. To argue the justification of something be the law says it is so is ridiculous, juvenile, and sophomoric.
