The argument continued after the pair returned home, Downey said. “It appears the father retrieved a handgun and shot his son, it appears, six times.”

I'm guessing we can rule out accidental discharge.

    Sad...

Hopefullly the legal justice system works as it should in this case and justice is served swiftly.

Another POS jeopardizing all our rights. Just what we need.

    Right here.
Unmitigated pure evil. Upon conviction a swift and very painful death sentence.

This is why I could never be a LEO. "Well sheriff he was so intoxicated that as I was walking him to my squad he fell down the stairs from his porch...34 times".

I know both of the people involved in this.
My daughter dated the son and I met and talked with the father on several occassions.
He was a nice kid, he had some problems, but this is something that my family and I are having trouble wrapping our heads around.

Probably, but there's got to be more to it than that. I've been drunk. I've never shot my offspring while drunk. Ditto literally millions of other gun owners who drink.

I've never been drunk and I haven't shot my kids either. Do I count for anything?

alcohol & antidepressants don't mix. True, but the effects are increased drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination and inability to operate heavy machinery.

excuse are like..... well you know

I can't feel sorry for this guy, some people are just mean SOB's. I feel for those who will be mourning the loss of the son and now the Dad.. he won't be coming home.
