Blacks/darks in Central Indiana are likely up as of today. The conditions the last 96 hours have been perfect. Should be some great hunting for these this weekend. The more coveted yellows are still at least 10 days away.
I have tried hunting morels. I just can't find the right gun to use. At first I went with a .410 with #6shot. That was a mess, tried it with a .22lr, still to much fire power. This yr I will try my bow with small game tipped arrows.
once Morels are up, how long do they stay up? days, weeks, a month? and where is the best place to look for them? thick forest with lots of ground cover, thin cut forest with lots of sunlight? I want to find some!
