And a good chunk of the senate republicans signed right onto the tax and spending increases. Why should we trust them with anything as important as gun rights, when they can't even take a swipe at balancing a checkbook. This is pathetic. Can't help but wonder what Boner and his stalwarts are going to do with it.

    Fingers crossed

Would be nice if the Republicans sacked up told them NO! and let the next Congress sort it out forcing the AWB to the back of the bus.

Fire them all. McConnell and boner especially need to go. I think I liked them better when they were the party of "no".

They should have given smilin' joe the finger.

This is what happens when you lose elections. The Republicans in DC see the country heading the other direction - so they scatter. They see the people withholding their vote from Republicans, they assume you don't like what they're doing ( > Tea Party budget blockade) - so, they quit doing it.

Remember, Congress didn't re-elect Obama...we the people did.

Want more of this? It's easy. Stay home on election day. Or, show up and vote Libertarian.

The Republicans will get the message. You can bch at the Republicans all you want, but it you're withholding your vote from them, you're telling them you want less of them and what they're doing. No more tea party budget obstruction, no more standing on principle, you just told them YOU DON'T WANT THAT. See how that works?

So if you voted for Gary Johnson - congratulations...and ST"H"U.

Are you ****ing kidding me??? You are blaming the people who actually voted for a non-establishment politician for this crock of ****??? Take a look at the lame dick republicans bowing to the pressure from the left an their insatiable budget requirements.

The left is continuing their mission to kill the republican party...they are now campaigning for 2016 instead of saving our country from financial disaster....it is more important for Obama to spend and get a tax hike on the rich than to actually do anything towards cutting our deficit...he hadsAir Force One waiting to go back to Hawaii...he wants us to go over the cliff...his whole mission is to destroy this country financially. Destroy us financially and take away our guns....he won't need the military to fight his civil war...he has the ones dependent on him. He has his private army ready to go...this is the dream of his father to bring America to its knees.

We just have to get through 4 years, 4 long years.

I think we have a lot to figure out and not much time to do it or we'll be saying this again in 2016. Progressives are winning the war of ideas by attrition. They now have the youth. They run public schools and colleges. They own the media and the businesses with the most influence. They own Hollywood and soon will own the courts.

Thankfully they don't yet control the webz. But they own and drive pop culture and the condecending pompus attitude we're seeing now from them shows they know it. Seriously, I doubt 4 years is enough time to win back the ground we've lost.

But opponents of progressives need to stop bickering. There aren't enough libertarians, nor will there ever be, to overcome progressivism. There are no longer are enough social conservatives (their message is now socially poisoned) to overcome progressives. The reason we can't beat them is that we're splintered idealistically.

Both TF and twang are "right". And both are miles apart. THAT is the problem we must solve first or progressives will win elections for as long as there are still elections.

The irony is that most of us (the population of the United States) are far more conservative than the current political winds are blowing. We all have far more in common with each other than we do with either of our two party choices. Unfortunately, we are grouped together by party because of one of two hot-button issues that are over-promoted for the benefit of the few in charge.
