New York city has also banned food donations to the homeless due to the lack of caloric documentation or whatever.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg bans food donations to homeless shelters (Update) - New York NY | Examiner.com

^This IS liberalism. I keep telling people that liberals these days do not support liberty, but tyranny and micro management. They have a socialist agenda that everyone must conform to what is determined as best for all. What is best is determined by the arrogant ELITE rich liberals like Bloomberg. It is anti American, and it won't stop with food. Just because they support gay "marriage", illegal immigration, and abortions doesn't equate to liberty, just lack of morality.

"It is only a resolution encouraging residents to adopt a certain lifestyle (for now)..."

No one said its mandated, just that these things have a way of moving from recommendations to policy to law.

^^ Definitely this. It is called the "slippery slope" and it is a standard tool for introducing increasingly coercive controls. It starts as "nice to do", then becomes "encouraged", then mandated and finally the opposite becomes outlawed. Seen it way too many times. This particular case is the first step in forcing vegetarianism along the same path. Want to adopt that lifestyle? Feel free. But keep the govt. out of it at all costs.

Yes, maybe you should re-read the introduction:

Yes! And every step along the way, they'll convince the public it'll save lives, prevent cancer, and/or stop climate change if only the legislators will pass more laws, increase fines, etc.

I believe Obamacare will be one of the vehicles to accomplish this. Will we be denied healthcare based on our food choices?

I noticed most of my reps have dwindled down but if I could throw you the rest of them, I would. Including the badge.:):

The real issue was hinted at earlier.

First its a simple suggestion, then anti-capitalism takes place.

Mobs of haters protest/boycott restraunts with small profit margins as it is, and bankrupt more small businesses. Play our game or we will force you to play till the death.

So it would be okay if the government banned the sale of meat on Mondays as long as they exempt the legion post and VFW?

Not saying what they do is right.
I'm saying, a way to get around a stupid rule like that is..
A club buys the beer on a weekday.
The members may drink on the Sunday, they just recompense the club for the drink.
Form a "meat club". Hell, you can bill the members, so there is no transaction on the Sunday.

If you think I believe more govt is better, you must have not seen any of my posts.
