If only HR9534 included verbiage which prohibited the federal government from classifying everyone with a federal felony as a "prohibited person". There has to be a way to restore gun rights to non-violent federal felons today, but it seems as if the Supreme Court kicked those opportunities back down to the lower courts to "try again" which only prolongs the injustice of not allowing those non-violent felons to have their Second Amendment rights restored.

Why shouldn't all of ones god given rights, be restored after you have paid your dues?

Nice thought, but given its chances, I'd prefer he spend his political capital/energy on something that has a chance.
Like maybe Civil Asset Forfeiture reforms. (also not a very likely)

That needs to happen soon. Sharing your Netflix password too many times in Tennessee shouldn’t make you lose 2A rights.

There is already a mechanism in place to restore one's 2nd amendment rights after revocation.
You can always request restoration from your congresscritter.

My opinion with that is pretty simple. If one is not sound enough to restore all of their God given Rights we should keep them incarcerated or put them to sleep.
devils advocate. There can be a middle ground where they can be out, but with limitations.

Just like in a defense situation your options arent black and white with either a harsh word or lethal force. Sometimes something in between is all that is warranted.

But I am 100% behind non violent offenders being restored. The geeky guy in accounting that embezzeled 10k and served 5 years should have his gun rights restored. The dude that robbed a liquor store and shot (but didnt kill the clerk), not so much.

    Well......yeah.
Unfortunately, in this day and age, they barely put a dent in the mattress before they're bounced back into "public".
We are still very young as a Country, the general public will eventually grow tired of that behavior and then that happens, things will change for the better.
    History always repeats itself.

I don't have any middle ground with our Given Rights. If one is in jail or prison you have no rights. You do your time, all rights need to be restored.
True Freedom is a scary thing, its supposed to be that way.
