ha ha ha ha ha would imagine that after shooting 45/70 early on most everything else is alot more manageable,,
In my teen years a friend purchased a 8mm Mauser carbine and 5 Bandalers of ammo, .. We looked at all that ammo as a personnel challenge to get rid of it all.. No hearing protection, no safety glasses just a gun, lots of ammo and a muddy creek bank to shoot at.. Needless to say the shoulder and ears hurt for some time afterwards.. And after that no matter what I shoot it never hurt as much..
Do you still have that H&R.. ???? My friend sold his 8mm a few years later and I so wish I had purchased it for the memory value alone..
Sure do...it's my Cowboy Action long range buffalo gun.
this thing shot like a dream! I was cutting holes shooting standing off hand at 50.
I have a Marlin 1985LTD-III 45/70 Gov't with Octagon Barrel and Marbles Peep Sites. Mine is #25 of (I don't know).
.
Makes you feel like a man when you shoot a 45-70, BIG bang and recoil! Nice lever gun!
I have a contender pistol in 45-70...talk about feeling like a man!
