I have never really been a gamer, my sons were up until they hit 20? years old.
I had a Gamestop salesman get :poop:y with me when my then 12 yr old wanted to buy GTA China Edition for his Nintendo DS.
That game was a learning experience for me.
Most games now are just variations of games that came out in the 70s and 80s.
They just put more effort into the graphics and the audio.

But the play, is mostly the same

Wow this thread took a turn I wasn't expecting.

At K-2 in 92-93 we had a 9600 baud modem that connected us to Osan. 175 miles, I was impressed.

I was just scanning pics at 600 dpi. Each pic was between 800K, and 1.3M.
Ah, What would we do without compression. When I make the texture files for my 3D work, I typically use lossless TIFF formats. Especially when the texture requires 16 bit depth. Before LZW is used, which is a lossless form of compression, the "4K" textures (4096 x 4096 pixels) I mostly use are 48 MB's saved at 8 bits of depth (64 MB's if there is an Alpha Channel). The character in my avatar use several different sizes of image textures. Her body is an 8K material, which in lossless format is well over 100 MB's per image (material will have several image textures).

I’m just disappointed my vagueposting didn’t garner more attention LOL. I’m not a computer guy guy and definitely don’t have a Commodore 64. I was just trying to be first on the new guy who looks to be trolling
