Homes would be some cheaper if they didn’t impose expensive restrictions on where they could be built too. The system we have now is producing the exact product it was designed to. Pretending more government will fix this is a dream (at best) and (more likely) a lie.

I suspect some of the housing money is headed for the owners of huge empty office buildings in big cities to remake them into project style housing. I don't see how this is going to be done without some modification of building codes.
