K9 patrols in malls?

Had to run up to Indy today and ran by the Academy Sports off County Line Rd and saw these in the mall parking lot.

If you needed a sign not to patronize this mall, I can't think of a better sign than this...

So having security cameras in the parking lot is a bad sign and no go for you? Guess walmart and other shopping centers is a no go also.

The Walmarts and other stores I go to do not have the temporary security camera trailers in their parking lots, which are there due to a recent uptick in crime and/or shoplifting. Not the same as an outdoor security camera, which even the local McDs has.

I'd say nationwide there are more retailers that don't have these setups than those that do (which rent for roughly $5,000+/mo).

Lowes at County Line has had one for years. It talks to you in English and Spanish. Well, yells at you. And now that I think about it, never says anything nice. Hasn't complimented me once. "Hey guy in the green truck, nice choice on those 1x8s, you found the only three in the building that weren't corkscrews." wouldn't kill you every now and then, would it?

The cameras do you no good.

Unless it's the rare chance it catches license plates and gets a very good view of the face.
And the PD does something based on it.

And.. it's even working.
News flash. When cameras stop working, it's not a top priority to fix.
And, often no one notices it stopped recording until AFTER something happens and they look at it.

And, often no one notices it stopped recording until AFTER something happens and they look at it.

It's a cash cow for that vendor and provides confirmation to folks there is enough issues there, they need the cameras.

Can't say I've seen them go up in Carmel or Fishers though...

Meh, won't be long before these are in every parking lot in America, and if that's something that's going to keep you away from that business, eventually you'll just never leave your basement

Do you really want it to advertise that you found the only reasonably straight lumber in the store? That sounds like an invitation to get mugged by a horde of DIY'ers to me!

I have zero reason to go to Greenwood Park Mall (only there picking up an order at Academy as I was driving by)...
