About 30 yrs ago, I spent 6 weeks on a Manslaughter case. No Jury Duty since then. Wifey got summoned 2 yrs ago, called and her pool never got a case.(1 show up- sat in courtroom, had lunch, soda break, came home).
I was notified, called in and was ordered to appear. Sat in a courtroom, got selected for a Civil case of a damaged roof vs a Large Insurance Company. Felt good to hose down an Insurance Company who was trying to "cheap shot" a 25 year customer, and he got a hefty settlement. The Corporate lawyers had red eyes, like ready to start bawling!
Can be a learning thing, I'm taking a sign next time that says "Choose Me" with hopes of another episode.
Not that bad, and do your duty. You do get paid measly money, but good chance you won't get picked.
