I am in. Not sure if I will rock my new 22 build, or go with my P30L.....might depend on how much 9mm I get loaded between now and then....

Hey everybody! Ill be glad to say that im in for this month! I sadly missed the last two for some unfortunate reasons..first I started a new job and couldnt get the day off and last month I missed bc one of my friends that I usually bring up to shoot with me was involved in a very nasty car accident. Long story short, he is doing well now and is expected to make a full recovery. I already have Friday off for this upcoming week and Im stoked to be back on the range again! :ingo:

Haha. I take it that you are usually in his squad as well? Shoot me a pm or post on here your real name so I know who you are. I swear we need to come up with screen printing on the back of the shirts we wear and put our usernames on there haha. It seems like over half the people that attend are on this forum. But I never know who anyone is!

I'm gonna bring the 22lr AR. See if I can keep up with the kids...

...or maybe I'll shoot my tiny gun:
If I brought a new gun and it didn't run, I'd look almost as silly as you... :stickpoke:

Heck Burl that's still faster than some of the strings I've done with a weapon that functions 100% of the time! A 24.65 with that many malfunctions that's pretty good and you kept your cool, I didn't even hear any beeep bbbeeddeybeeps, if that would have been me it would have sounded like a dead guys heart monitor.

    Shooters,
Our Friday Night Steel match will be this Friday, October 8th at 6 pm. We will have 5 challenging courses of fire. We will begin course setup at 5:00 pm, and we'll need help from volunteers. We will have sign-up at 5:15 pm and a shooters meeting at 6:00 pm to explain the rules and to form squads. At 6:15 pm sharp, we plan to begin shooting. We'll be charging $10 for club members and $15 for non-members, with all money going towards the club or new steel targets. Shoot an additional gun for only $10 with your first paid entry.
YOU MUST ATTEND THE SHOOTERS/SAFETY MEETING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MATCH.
Sign-in will close at the start of the Shooters meeting.

Your help with setup is greatly appreciated. Please help tear down your last stage.

FNS is conducted under a COLD RANGE. That means all guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. You may only handle your gun at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas! Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification.

    * PLEASE TAKE NOTE *
We have Friday Night Steel bumper stickers available for purchase. They can be purchased during sign in at all Friday Night Steel events.
If you wondered where to purchase the Friday Nights Steel gear that some of the RO’s were wearing. You can now purchase Official Friday Night Steel shirts and hats at Café press

    * PLEASE MAKE A NOTE AS THIS HAS CHANGED *
5 magazines or speed loaders is now the minimum requirement. If you do not bring enough magazines to complete all of the strings of fire, you will receive the maximum time for the strings of fire that you were unable to complete. We will not allow shooters (or their friends) to load magazines at the shooting line in between strings of fire, as it slows down the shooting procedure for other competitors.

With our numbers continuing to grow we ask that everyone does their part to make the match run as smoothly as possible. Be ready when it is your time on the firing line. Help to reset the steel. Volunteer to keep score.
If you're new to competitive shooting, we encourage you to check out the following site. It shows upcoming shooting events for 3-gun, Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup), Bowling Pin Shooting, Cowboy Action Shooting (SASS), ICORE, IDPA, Multi-gun, Steel Challenge, and USPSA.

Don’t forget about the Bowling Pin Shoot (Fourth Saturday) at Marion County Fish and Game.

How many speedloaders are recommended to shoot revolver in FNS?

That's gonna vary from shooter to shooter. The rules recommend 5 for sure. When I shoot revolver I have 7 that I bring for my Colt, but I bring more like 20 when I shoot the 625 because moon clips take longer to unload/load. The math is that there are usually between 5 and 7 targets per stage with 3 strings per stage. That's 15-21 rounds with no misses. That's 4 speedloaders if you don't miss at all on a 7-target stage. :twocents: HTH!
