I know a guy that has level 4 plates for sale. He has tested them to show that they are good. They will stop a 30-06 armor piercing from 25 ft. He gets $400 for 2 plates, you can pick up a vest for $30
dwagner3701's level 4 stand alone plates are beyond "Esapi", and beyond what a lot if the "experts" here are talking about.
the top of the line to my knowledge is level 4 stand alone, correct me if I am wrong.
Stand alone means it does not require a 20 lb IIIA military vest and two 7.5 pound plates to get the level 4 rating.
Stand alone means it will stop 30-06 AP round with a 7 pound plate, one front, one back.
Ebay will not allow Level 4 plates, because the defense department told them not to.
Not because it is a problem, but because they didn't want national guard troops that were not getting issued any plates, to be able to buy better than what the DOD were issuing to army troops. They said it was not fair.
I want my children, and your children to have the best equipment. Period!
I want to save every Hoosier.
