I stopped by my mother's house, and decided to help her out by washing some dishes. Stuck my hand down a glass with a sponge, did a quick swirl of the hand when it broke, laying my hand open on the top side, near the first knuckle. Got close to the bone and a tendon, but not too bad. They've immobilized my trigger finger and told me I'd be off work for about 2 two weeks (I work with my hands and have to practice frequent handwashing). Anyway .... I'm cool with the time off ... got plenty of personal time ... But I am kind of feeling uneasy about never taking the time to get comfortable using my left hand for shooting. I could go to the range now, but I don't think I could load up my magazines (this typing is taking a long time too).
I don't guess I'm looking for advise, ... maybe some comiseration .. but it's definitely something to consider and a good reason to practice with the non-dominant. I'd say practice not just shooting, but carrying.
Oh well.
If anyone see's a cripled guy at the Henryville range (Clark State Forest) come on over and say hi.
