    Went were I was told and did what I was tolds to do..

    RVN Veteran.Served aboard the USNS Corpus Christi Bay. This was an Army ship that repaired helocopters.

    Earned all the normal in contry ribbons and three Army Commendation medals.

    I do not regret a day I served or a day that I got out.

    I highly respect all veterans no matter where they served or what they did. This country is still strong due to its Military, no thanks to its politicans. (lower case intended.}

    USMC 66-69, electronics repair, wound up with Mag-12 in beautiful downtown Chu Lai air base for 16 wonderful, fun filled months mainly fixing WW2 telephone equipment, drinking copious amounts of beer, part -time beach bug courtesy of the South China sea, 3 R&R to Bangkok [that was fun], got to experience Tet of '68, lost a good bit of hearing over Charlie blowing up our bomb dump, guard duty on perimeter for a month, police duty [what a waste] for a month, they tried for a 2nd month, I won that one, TAD to Americal Division PX warehouse for a month [another waste but did "confiscate" several bottles of good liquor], kudos for those who have spent years in the military, but after 3 years of lifers and chicken chit, I had more than enough and demoted myself to PFC, Proud ****** Civilian. Own Garands, Carbine, M1A, 03, 03A3, 1917 Enfield, EBR w/Night Vision scope, .223 custom w/20x SS that gives quarter inch groups, .308 w/16x that gives half inch groups. Retired from everything now, going for small Marine Corps birthday party at noon today, Veterans ceremony tomorrow, then for a week of deer hunting. Association with younger guys caused one to join the Corps , got in on OIF, now his yourger brother is slated for the Rockpile, and his friend went for 6 years in the Corps, and will most likely wind up doing several tours. Guess I started a trend. SEMPER FI!

    1 tour in Iraq.

    Medals are all sitting a drawer I don't care to open. I never really gave a damn about the medals I got. The real decoration of my service was knowing these two men for as brief as a time as it was. They were later redeployed to Afghanistan.

    As far as guns. I have a pistol and rifle that look a lot like what we used to carry.

    I also want to thank all those who have served, are serving, and who will serve in the future. I enjoy all the branch vs branch jokes, but I'm grateful for every member of the team regardless of branch. :patriot:

    I got all the medals they handed out to everone, some I didn't know about until I got my DD214. None of them matter....Buddies blown up by Black Panthers, SDS, Weather Underground, and other domestic terrorist groups matter.

    Their names are on the EOD Honor Wall, it used to be at Indianhead, MD. I don't know where it is now...

    The only medal I ever really wanted was the Blue Max. I should have gotten it for shooting down that NG Huey at Camp Ripley in Minnesota. But the General aboard knew he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

    Happy vets day folks.

    Muddy foot, out

    Oh yeah, I still shoot scoped bolt guns, 45's, AR's, and M1-A"s.

    See what you went and did? My brother followed me in. I left, he stayed. Now he's a full bird, Hornet driver. I recognize that good feeling, knowing you had an influence.

    After qualifying w/ beretta , i was bitten by the gunbug and can't get enough. Prior to learning to shoot in the service , i never understood 2nd amendment issues, but have since paid close attention and love all things guns!
