Embassy duty at the time issued the Ruger .38 (don't recall the model, but it was a 4" barrel), Remington 870P with folding stock and pistol grip, and Uzis in the PSO's safe. I don't currently own any of those.

    Thanks to all you vets.

Army, 11B2P, Ft Bragg 1984-1990. 2/508 which was renamed the 3/504 while I was there... just found out from Indecision that it's been re-re-named. I have an RRA M-4; was issued an M-16A1 at first, then an A2. same for 1911--> 92. I also have a 1911 like the one I briefly carried in an M60 Sqd.

In 'Nam I ran and drove like hell, carried a flak jacket, poncho, helmet, an M-1 and a 1911, so now I own Springfield & Glock, et al now. Blessings and Deep Thanks to all Vets who have served, and inexpressible gratitude to our men who did not make it home alive. Keeping the Honor alive for those younger lives who will enlist to serve long after these bones corrode. 1-Navy Unit Commendation…2nd Marine Division did so good and managed to blow up only a few camels with grenade launchers, so we were awarded this ribbon.

2-Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation…same as above, but not quite as fancy because it’s 2nd in precedence.

3-Selected Marine Corps Reserve…given to any reservist with good conduct who also never forgot to bring at least a 12-pack of cold beer to every drill etc. for a certain time period…I can’t remember, maybe 4 or 6 years.

4-National Defense-commonly called the “Fire Watch” award…given to anyone serving anywhere during a time of conflict.

5-Southwest Asia Service w/ 2 bronze stars…for meritorious service in the defense of South West Asian oil fields, one star for Desert Shield, one for Desert Storm.

6-Navy Sea Service Deployment…awarded to anyone sent overseas for any reason (I think)

7-Saudi Arabia Liberation of Kuwait…given to us by Saudi Arabia for the liberation of Kuwait and the protection of their oil fields. Scuttlebutt has it that the corresponding medal for this ribbon contains an ounce of pure gold. Can you say bad scoop? I have this medal also.

8-Kuwait Liberation of Kuwait…given to us by Kuwait for the same above reasons.

[FONT=&quot]Rifle Expert Badge…I can shoot the arsehole outta a stationary gnat at 500 yards/meters with my M-16A2 service rifle without using a telescopic sighting device.

And no, I do not currently own one.

Firearms are scary and evil anyway.

    From one sheepdog to another:

My one regret in life is never having served in the armed forces, standing shoulder to shoulder with good men and women, staring down the wolf. To you, my good men of INGO, a hearty thanks for your time and dedication to our nation and the preservance of our liberty and freedom.
