Hmmm...meatloaf. That sounds good. Maybe tomorrow. We had leftover split pea soup tonight with deviled eggs and cheese and crackers.

Yes it was very good. I had two pieces. I got some on my rifle and had to gently rub it off.

My Pineapple Upside Down Cake Story (told in public for the first time ever)

The week before I returned home from California in August of 1991, I had an odd feeling that wouldn't go away. For several days, I had a weird craving for pineapple upside down cake (PUDC). At that time and previously, I was repulsed by the flavor of pineapple and I did not like PUDC. I hated it.

When I arrived home, the telltale aroma of baking was in my parents' house. My mother had not baked a PUDC for at least ten years and she knew with certainty that I hated it. Yet, for some reason unknown to her, she knew she had to bake one to welcome me home.

There had been no communication regarding this prior to my arrival. However, the thing was freakin' delicious and to this day I like pineapple, especially fresh, ripe pineapple.

But . . . why was I wanting something I never liked before at the same time my mom was making that thing I never liked?

    We may never know . . .

Dude - Do you and your mom have ESPN? :n00b:

I know of two people that are allergic to pineapple (face swells up) but they can eat fresh pineapple with no problems, just not canned.
    Weird...

Good stuff. I had some home made PUDC for the first time about a month ago, pretty tasty. I think the recipe only called for half a bag of sugar.

My sister makes a cupcake version. Each with a half Maraschino Cherry on top. They are amazing. And portable!
