So you are not certain that rape is a terrible crime?
Either it is a baby or it is not! The despicable actions of the babies father have nothing to do with whether this is true.

Yes, I am certain rape is a terrible crime. I'm telling you that is an example of a fact. You asked how I established the fact that rape is bad, I'm telling you that I didn't establish it. It has been established before my time. Once again, the things that I establish for myself are my opinions/beliefs. Like I've said before, there are facts and then there are beliefs.

Why do you keep repeating that line? I've already addressed that several times. It doesn't matter to me if it is a baby or not, because in my opinion, according to my personal beliefs, it has no right to exist, since its life was created against the mother's will, and if people like you get their way, the mother would be forced to continue to carry it against her will.

I hold the belief that life shouldn't be created out of violence, hatred, and compulsion. You're free to do what you wish with your body. If you get raped and want to go ahead and have the baby, good for you. Just don't tread on me.

My wife plainly informed me that she would not, under any circumstances, give birth to the child of a monster - regardless of what ANYONE told her. Not that I would DREAM of trying to tell a victim of a rape what she should do with anything....

What if she subsequently discovers that its your child instead?

As the adoptive father of a bright, beautiful, talented and innocent girl and the husband of a courageous, caring, loving woman who chose to birth one of these children, I am extremely offended by some of the attempts to make these children into monsters of genetic heredity.
She brings us joy every day and cannot imagine a world in which her mother would have let the sins of the father determine her right to live.

I don't think that anyone here was saying that your daughter is a monster of genetic heredity. However, there is some science that suggests it CAN happen. I also don't think most are saying that is the number one reason one may choose to abort.

Rape is a selfish act upon a woman that the man cares nothing about.....it only serves his self interest. Abortion is the selfish act of a woman on a child that she cares nothing about...it only serves her self interest.

In the case of rape, if the victim sees a doctor the pregnacy can be stopped before egg an sperm meet anyway. At least what I'm told.

Indeed. That's what the morning after pill does.

It's also where Mr. Akin got his statements from that got totally blown out of the water. There are very few pregnancies stemming from rape because most hospitals (read: nearly all, except catholic) offer the morning after pill to all rape victims.

Rape is an act of violence that is regularly inflicted upon women, men, girls, and/or boys.

While you're at it don't forget to point out that plenty of women rape and sexually abuse boys and girls too. Sadly they suffer nowhere near the level of punishment for it, mostly because lots of individuals refuse to admit it's even a possibility.

I guess I don't understand your post. It seems pretty self explanatory.

Does it? It's not a baby when someone wants to kill it. But it's a baby when at the same gestational age there is a miscarriage, or even more hypocritical, when the baby's life was taken by force from someone other than the mother.

How can it be considered a baby and not at the same time.

I don't think that anyone here was saying that your daughter is a monster of genetic heredity. However, there is some science that suggests it CAN happen. I also don't think most are saying that is the number one reason one may choose to abort.

Someone's wife sure did. In almost exactly those terms.

    If I was married....

That hypothetical beings with a horror story... my mind refuses to wander further.

It does beg the question though, why would she have a baby?

We are talking legitimate rape, right?

    Why not?

Plenty of cases out there of mothers and persons who are glad they had the child.

Wouldn't her body just "shut that whole thing down".....

A fact that the proabortionists chose to not acknowledge.

Referring to someone who is pro-choice as "proabortionist" would be like referring to someone who supports the second amendment as "pro-killshot".

Just because someone does not support legislation outlawing an activity, does not equate to them viewing a negative situation as a good thing.

The idea of an abortion does not make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I, however, do not believe it is my place to make that decision for everyone else in the country.

Really? The dishonesty of your reasoning is awesome!

Do you apply the same to everything you believe in?

Yes I absolutely would make it illegal. I'm all about freedom and equal rights, which is exactly why I'm pro-life. I support people doing whatever they want to until it infringes on the rights of someone else, in this case unborn children who cannot defend themselves.

Exactly. Can't rep you yet. Gotta spread it around first.
