I go through wallets about every 3 or 4 years, but the one I have now (Tommy Hilfiger) has lasted twice that long. I just got lucky I guess. I got it at the Light House Mall in Michigan City at the Tommy Hilfiger store.

I have found that it pays to buy quality. Pick up a COACH, HS TRASK, ORVIS or SADDLEBACK leather wallet. Expensive but tend to last me many years. The brands you can pick up at Kohls or Macy's or Target are all made in China/India/VietNam of cheap materials. A COACH (or similar) wallet will cost you a pretty penny, it will also outlast 3 or 4 of the department store wallets.

Never regretted buying anything from Orvis.

I use one of the aforementioned Maxpedition Wallets
CMC Wallet - MAXPEDITION HARD-USE GEAR Tactical Nylon Gear for Military, Law Enforcement, Tactical Concealed Carry; Tailored to Perform Tactical
(mine is an older version. none of this zipper bull****)
Plenty of space. Love mine. Very Durable.

However do note that tactical nylon will eventually take on some of the clothes dye. Mine is turning blue in a few places from blue jeans.

Not sure what all is tactical about them. They are pretty bombproof, also tactical nylon does a good job of protecting your stuff from water.
There are 3 retention slots on the wallet, what I used to carry there (until school started) : mini-bic, small pocket knife, flashdrive.

I bought a leather chain wallet from Hot Topic around the year 2000.....it's now close to 12 years old and I could easily get another 5-10 years out of it. Paid less than $50 for it.

I agree. But you can get a Coach wallet for a hell of a lot less money. In fact you can easily get them for well under $100.

As for Kohls wallets, never had a cheap wallet last 2 years. But the good wallets easily last 6 to 8 and look better than a "Docker" or similar brand after 2.

My last coach wallet ran me around $60.

I am sorry but haven't had a wallet with velcro on it since I was 5 and don't plan on it now. :rockwoot:

I got the Maxpedition with velcro on it for free, and have been using it for the last 3 years or so. However, I don't really care for the velcro and feel like a 5 year old every time I pull it out to pay for something.

Problem is, the wallet is so durable I haven't been able to wear it out to justify buying a new one.
