15 minutes before you serve, add cooked Pasta

    CROCK-POT BANANA BREAD

Eewww!!!! LOL, it's just not right after that phone in bathroom thread. All I can see in my head is a naked man putting things in a crock pot...

Try the recipe on the back of the A1 Steak Sauce bottle. IndyJohn showed me the pick and said "make me this" and viola...it was AWESOME. I've got me some mad crockpotting skills. Ham and Bean soup is good crockpottin' too.

    A holler in Kentucky
I slow cook a Ham every year for Christmas. I get a Kentucky Legend or Cumberland Gap boneless ham, throw it in the crockpot, add a little liquid (ginger ale, Coke, maybe a dark beer) and let it cook on low 8 hrs or so. I've always wanted to cook one til it was falling apart just to see how it would be, but I always just slice em up.

Just wait until someone introduces you to a pressure cooker! Same effect..in less than an hour...
Yeah but… I turn it on low when I go to work, when I come home dinner is served. Slow cookers are great for single guys like me. Although, I turned one on right before I went to bed so I could take some to work for lunch, and the delicious smell woke me up in the morning.

3 boneless chicken breasts a jar of salsa and a half a jar of pasta sauce all day on low. Cook up some spaghetti and enjoy. Trust me I thought "that just can't be good" and I was wrong.

My personal favorite is Chicken Tacos!
You just throw in 2 lbs (or a bit more) of frozen or thawed chicken breast, a packet of taco seasoning, a packet of dry ranch mix, and a 16 oz jar of salsa into the crockpot. Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 7-8 hours. Before the last hour or so (not really that time sensitive) shred the chicken (really easy; use a fork or any utensil, really; it practically falls apart on its own), then let it cook that last hour to really meld the flavors. Mmm Mmm Good!

I'm looking for other recipes to try. Anyone have any?
    Crock pot pizza:
Instead of crust, use macaroni. Boil the macaroni till it's soft, then layer your ingredients in:

    Macaroni
    Sauce
    Pepperoni
    Sausage
    Mushroom
    Green Peppers
    Banana Peppers
    Cheese
    repeat

Set it on medium temp and cook it until ALL of your cheese on top is melted. It's like lasagna and pizza had a child. :)

I second this recipe. I use the same recipe, though I omit the ranch mix, just a jar of salsa/picante with taco seasoning mixed in poured over the chicken. Amazingly good chicken taco meat. I also use the filling to make fantastic chicken enchiladas.

Also, with the pulled pork recipes, I've done similar, only instead of Dr. Pepper, I used a bottle of beer. For pulled pork I rub it the night before with my favorite rub and cook it in the crockpot with a beer poured over it. For pork tacos, instead of rubbing with BBQ rub or pork rub, I use taco seasoning and cook the same way.

I love the three envelope roast. Throw a roast in the pot, put a little water in it, add one envelope each of beef gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and Italian dressing mix. So easy and tastes fantastic. I also like spicy V8 beef stew. Stew meat, spicy V8 juice, beef bouillon, a few bay leaves, garlic, potatoes, carrots, celery, a few dashes of hot sauce and some corn salsa. Mmmm

    I love my crock pot

I have quite a few favorite recipes for the crock pot (all found on the internet somewhere), but one of my favorites is a beef roast, with a jar of banana peppers (mild) and a jar of banana peppers (hot), and cook that while your at work. Breaks down the beef until shredded and you can throw it on a bun with some cheese and you have a nice "Italian beef" sandwich. Goes well at tailgates too.

We buy pastured pork a lot, so I often have pork roast in the crock pot. A few splashes or Worcestershire, a small amount of wine or apple cider vinegar, seasonings, and that's it.
Another favorite is boneless chicken breast cooked in chicken broth or your choice of cream soup, when I get home, I shred the chicken, stir in some cream cheese, maybe some mushrooms or broccoli, stir and heat a little more, then serve over rice. You can also add a packet of ranch or Italian dressing seasoning at the beginning.
I have a rice cooker so I don't have to babysit the rice...that's another handy kitchen gadget, IMO.
