It's been years since we've been on the east coast of Florida, but headed down in a few weeks. So far the wife has come up with St Augustine, Holly Hill, Ormond Beach, perhaps a day trip to the Everglades.

Aside from spotting the On Patrol Live crews in Daytona beach, any recommendations of things to see and do?

Kennedy Space Center. Take the tour and go to the Saturn V center, worth EVERY penny!!

St. Augustine, and go to the Castillo de San Marcos, a 17th-century Spanish stone fortress with views of the St. Augustine Inlet.
I'll second the fort at St Augustine. Try to take it from the sea? You gonna die. It is impressive.

    A holler in Kentucky
Also the lighthouse at St. Augustine, and another at Ponce inlet, which is just south of Daytona Beach. There’s a nice little restaurant in ponce inlet as well, you can sit at your table and usually watch a porpoise or two play around in the inlet.

Last time I was down there, the drive between Jacksonville and Daytona on A1A was really enjoyable, lots of things to see.

    Thanks, guys!

I added Kennedy Space Center to our list and we're debating hitting the Everglades on this trip (although it be a LOT of driving). May make sense to do South Florida in the next few years and do the Everglades / Florida Keys on that trip.

One more suggestion. I've never been able to do this but would kill to do so. Keep an eye on the SpaceX falcon 9 launch schedule. If you can catch a launch. If you are exceptionally lucky you might be there for a falcon heavy launch and get to watch a simultaneous booster landing back at the cape.

I watch in awe every time one of these double booster recoveries occur. It is the embodiment in my mind's eye of the science fiction I read as a child. Come to reality in my lifetime.

    Condos and traffic.

Disney Springs is a nice place to walk around. Sea World and Universal are cool too.
We did Disney springs last night, for the second time this week. Had supper at STK. Geez oh peeminy is that place expensive. It currently holds the record for the largest tab we've paid, by a lot. But it was good chow.
