where do you live? and did you kill it?
i wouldn't kill it.. i'd call a local museum or someone more educated and find out for yourself.

Pics or it didn't happen. J/k that is a once in a lifetime catch, you could skin and freeze it until you convince her otherwise.

Interesting......Yes, please post a pic to help verify it is indeed a mink.

Releasing it back into the wild would be great also.

I'd definitely call the DNR or a local university at least. This is one of those rare opportunities for people to see an animal like that. You'd be doing a great thing for some students studying wildlife biology.

Little hard to tell from the pics, but it doesn't scream mink to me. I would ask your neighbors if they have a pet ferret missing.

    looks like winter coat..
If you own the land it is legal for you to take it with out permit in season, ( ends jan 30 , 2013)

you can not keep it alive more than 24 hour..

i have only had it about 3 hours. and i will be letting it go in the morning so i should be good to go. and yes i own the land.

The muzzle shape doesn't look like the mink I have seen in the wild. I have only held one ferret in my life and its muzzle area seemed broader like what I see in your pic.
