I just LOVE some of my customers!
I took one of my better customers (my treat) to the Friends of the NRA banquet last year in West Lafayette. He bought a raffle ticket at the dinner for $20, and ended up winning a really nice camo'd Savage .22-250!:rockwoot:
That MAY have been "the straw that broke the camels back".
He called today to tell me he wants me to build him a gun vault in his basement.:D
He wants three block walls, with this door.

For some reason I can't get this link to work the way I want it to.
Click on the link (takes you to Browning website, search for "security door".
    It's going to be a few weeks, it's a special order door:rolleyes:
He said he wanted me to also construct, or buy, gun racks inside. He wants two rows high off the floor. When I asked how many guns he wanted racks for, his answer was, "As many as you can fit in there!:patriot:
I'll TRY to take pics and post them here when we get going on this!

THAT'S IT! Sweet door isn't it?
Set in a concrete block wall, that has been poured full, that is going to be one REALLY nice vault!
He's looking at a neo-angle, off of a corner of the basement wall. Somewhere in the neighborhood of a 10'x10' vault!

    Yes in deed!!! :yesway: :rockwoot:

    I'm so jealous!!!! :crying: :tantrum:

I won't have to deal with it:D He's going to purchase it, and have it delivered to within feet of it's intended resting place:rockwoot: The door weighs over 400 lbs!
After taxes, that's going to be a $4000 DOOR!

When you add up the cost of a high end gun collection it wouldn't take long to justify a $4000 door to protect it.

I would consider it for a safe room for sure. Imagine some idiot taking a flying kick at that door and lying on the floor crying.:owned:

He's only concerned with a fire rating for the ceiling:dunno:
Double or triple layer of 5/8 sheet rock will provide a one hour fire rating.
I might try to talk him into some steel plating. Have to see how it goes.
He chose that door because of the discretion it provides.
He figures the way the door looks, no-one will try THAT hard, if they don't know what's in there:rolleyes:

This is why I followed the link, then I saw the price. Too rich for me but a great idea for someone who has the need.

:n00b: Whatever floats his boat... but what's the point of all that strong building in the door and walls if the floor upstairs could be popped right up and you could hop down in there. Have him put some inch thick steel plating on the cieling, then he'll erally be secure!

No offense, but if I paid big money for a vault, I'd be really, really, ****** when I found pictures of it on the internet.

I'd probably be really ****** when I found it being mentioned... a public forums is well... public, and it's not to hard to find out who someone is and follow them to the job site.

    Thus the word TRY!
I will NOT take pics without consent.
I don't THINK it will present a problem though. He's a nice guy, and he knows I wouldn't jeopardize his security, OR my reputation.
