Totality of the circumstances may dictate my response...but I don't know if I could live with myself if I watched a person get beaten to death and I did nothing but could have.

Under such circumstances, being a good witness means witnessing the last failing breath wheeze out of the perpetrator.

$150,000 bond on a murder. Wow. If that's the value Tejas puts on an innocent life, not sure it would be a good idea to get involved...

Us Internet Cowboys can talk big, but there were very little details in that article that explain what actually went down. That being said, I made a commitment years ago to my family, my friends, my community, and society in general. I WILL NOT let Evil triumph against my fellow man, if there is anything I can do to stop it. I would make sure my family is safe first, then I'd have them call 911, then I'd jump in & do anything I could, to save the life of someone who was in danger. Period.

You would think there would have been a few bystanders that would have somehow tried to help the old man.

Sorry, but in this day and age, and with almost everyone carrying a cameraphone, I would almost bet this was 'filmed' by several of the bystanders. And, all those phones there, and no one had the presence of mind to call 911?

Ever been to an amtrak or greyhound station? This news doesn't surprise me! I'd step in like Denny said. Armed or unarmed, I could not watch an innocent person die or be severely harmed without doing something. There is no other choice. it's like breathing or not breathing

From the article: "Fobbs has been charged with murder and is in jail under a $150,000 bond". Guess a mans life wasted in a horrific manner is not worth much. $150,000? Why no 150 million. Perhaps apparent lack of concern by the courts is reflected in the people that stood by and watched the murder.
