Hospital Asks About Guns

My mom went into Union Hospital (Terre Haute) for surgery this week and they asked her if she owned any guns when she checked in. My wife was with her. Probably a good thing it wasn't me.

Has this happened to anyone else?

WTF are they even asking for? I can't see any reasonable reason to why they would or should even ask.

The only reason to ask something like that is so they can break in and take them while you are in the hosp!!

So here is my speculation on the "grand plan"...

Your doctor can label you as someone who is mentally unstable. And, if you own a gun, you obviously have a mental issue... Then you would be in a position of having to prove your sanity to excercise your 2nd Amendment rights.

Honestly your honor, I'm completely stable. No, I can't explain why my doctor - a trained medical professional - submitted a report claiming I was mentally unstable. I think it's all a liberal conspiracy. What? No sir, I don't think that sounds paranoid...

They're coming at us sideways on this guys.

I switched my kids doctor last year and one of the first questions the doctor asked was are there any firearms in the house.
